My class plan for this summer is to meet on the last Tuesday of the month for May and June: May 25, June 29. For the month of July, I would like for us to meet for presentations of your research proposals. My original plan was to have us meet on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday – the last week of the term – for this. One of your colleagues already has vacation plans that week and has asked if we could have days in the previous week as an option. I can do day or evening, but I need to plan it now, as do you.
You each will need to present your research proposal to a group of your peers and anyone else who would like to come listen. So, we need to make sure that everyone is available for one class session of presentation – presentation to be about 15 minutes. And, since teaching this course doesn’t count toward my time on campus for my chair job, I have to be able to be in the office those two weeks also.
My suggested dates are as follows:
July 22-23 (Thursday and Friday) and 26-27 (Monday-Tuesday).
